Look online, and you'll find a plethora of guides to get your favorite runner for the holidays.
For the most part, these are expensive and kind of space-agey in looks - pants that warm you up even when you're not running, retractable leashes so your dog can join you on your run, and shoes that all but do the running for you. They look neat, and yeah, I could easily find a use for all that are listed (and wouldn't say 'no' to them, either).
And then there's this hat. I actually love this a lot, because I hate having to lose my concentration because my keys fell out of my pocker or hindering my strides because said keys will fall out. I have holes in my favorite running shorts from the umpteen times I've taken a safety pin and attached my keys to my shorts, and I have even experimented with a shoe pocket. The latter actually affected my stride, and while I was only carrying my cell phone, a key, and some cash, it was enough that it created a noticeable weight in my shoe. And if I didn't lace the pocket through my shoelaces just right, the thing would flop around on my feet and drive me bananas.
Where was I? Oh, right, the hat. This is actually a really neat idea, save for one small problem: If you carry pepper spray, where do you put it now? Do you really want to fumble around on your hat for the spray bottle? It's like, companies get so close to designing a product that women could actually use, but they still miss the mark. What they should do is design shorts with small pockets that zip up, the end.
