I apologize for the lack of updates. I feel like I've hit the wall, or rather, that the wall hit ME.
It's been a backwards sort of week. My long run a week ago was a bust because it was 90 degrees and like 10000% humidity. Just walking outside left me sweating. I wanted to do a light long run - six miles - but then it quickly became just three, and that quickly became "let's just go for a brisk walk."
The weather here is beastly; it's the relentless humidity that makes the Midwest famous (it also makes my hair an uncontrollable pile o' frizz). I feel suffocated just stepping outside, and a run, no matter how short, is just interminable.
I also strained muscles in my left leg. It was one of those "I am perfectly fine now" sort of things, but if I sat too long and then got up? Ouch.
The three-day weekend screwed me up, too. You know how that goes - it's Tuesday, but you think it's Monday because the holiday felt like a second Sunday, so you really don't know what is going on. The point is, I'm just amazed I've been wearing my clothes right-side out during this time. It's all that can be expected.
But, back in the saddle I go, and I hope that next week brings with it some sense of normalcy. Keep on, keepin' on.
